Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Welcome and direct guests to their seats; present menu and wine list and also take food and beverage orders from customers accurately.
  • Offer menu recommendations, answer questions about ingredients, and accommodate special requests (e.g., dietary restrictions)
  • Receives instructions from Chef de rang, supervisors and managers concerning the daily planning and organization of the restaurant.
  • Performs mise-en-place of tables, service stations, as instructed by immediate supervisors.
  • Must be familiar with all items on the menu, learning the ingredients of dishes/cocktails so as to answer guests whenever taking orders.
  • Serves food and beverages as per instructions by adhering to the Quality Standard of service.
  • Cleaning the work place and performing ancillary duties.
  • Ensuring a speedy and efficient service within an ascribed area.
  • Presenting bills prepared by the cashier and ensuring that such bills are signed or paid by the guests in the ascribed area.
  • Proper utilization of all the material and equipment made available to the section and participates in inventory taking.
  • Will be required to move through the park from one section/outlet to another and to work outside the restaurant perimeter in the course of a day’s work and in the performance of prescribed duties.

Any other cognate duties as may be necessary in the circumstances and/or required by the employer.

Candidate’s Profile:

  • A C.A.P or a certificate of equivalent standard
  • Working experience will be a definite advantage
  • Good communication skills
  • Fluent in English and French
  • Outgoing and pleasant personality
  • Good human contact
  • Must have good physical health as the waiter spends most of his working hours on his feet
  • Works on shifts, odd hours, Sundays, public holidays and cyclonic days
  • Must be neat, tidy and smartly dressed in uniforms
