Job Summary

  • Assist the Facilities Manager in the planning, implementation organizing and directing the maintenance activities within Medine Group.
  • Ensure that all buildings, grounds, and equipment are well maintained and in optimal working condition, in accordance with the health & safety regulations.
  • Be fully versed in basic building and maintenance requirements and able to fulfil these tasks including plumbing, basic building, painting and minor electrical repairs.

Duties and Responsibilities

Maintenance & Repairs

  • Assist maintenance team and attend to maintenance and executing maintenance programs as directed by the relevant Property and/or Facilities Managers.
  • Conduct inspections of properties on a rotational basis as instructed by management and advise manager of preventative maintenance requirements on identified issues and when carrying out inspections.
  • Periodic reviews of existing maintenance policies and procedures to ensure maximum efficiency.
  • Assist in developing and carrying out preventive planned maintenance program, and identify maintenance needs.

Health and Safety

  • Undertake routine periodic inspections of the buildings, fixtures, fittings and equipment at various properties as directed.
  • Coordinate third party services of maintenance contractors, suppliers, vendors, etc. Deals with contractors on a daily basis.
  • Liaise with tenants with regards to maintenance problems.
  • Responsible for the day to day maintenance of:
    • Maintenance complaints
    • plumbing
    • Air Conditioning
    • Cleaning, Electrical, STP, etc.
  • Perform repairs where and when necessary.
  • Ensure that work of the service provider is being carried out satisfactorily,
  • Conduct periodic inspections of facilities, assess problems and needs, and implement improvements in maintenance operations as appropriate.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities.
  • Ensure that facilities are clean, well maintained, and in good repair.
  • Follow preventive maintenance procedures as appropriate.
  • Ensure that the maintenance operations are in compliance with established procedures, policies, regulations and codes.

Health and Safety

  • Assist the Facilities and relevant Managers for all the security, as well as the Health and Safety aspects of the Centre.
  • Follow all safety rules and procedures, and safety policies.
  • Complete regular OSH inspections and update monthly reports.
  • Ensure that OSH requirements are effectively implemented.
  • Be familiar with emergency numbers.

Customer Service

  • Work to develop and maintain productive business relations with vendors, suppliers, contractors, tenants, etc.
  • Act as a liaison between the company and external contacts.
  • Obtain and convey information as appropriate.
  • Promote goodwill and a positive image of the company

Administration/Records

  • Track and record repair and maintenance results.
  • Maintain register of tools and equipment pertaining to maintenance of property.
  • Assist Facilities Manager with retaining Asset Register of Property.
  • Complete work orders, lists materials issues and used, and file paperwork with appropriate personnel.
  • Complete equipment and supply orders as assigned.
  • Keep up to date the database contact of all contractors.
  • Completion of time sheets and maintenance records.
  • Perform any other cognate duties as may be necessary in the circumstances and/or required by the employer.

Qualifications

Minimum experience requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in electrical, plumbing and general building maintenance.

Minimum education requirements

  • School Certificate or NTC3

Required skills

  • Proficient knowledge of maintenance functions and safety protocol.
  • Ability to undertake and/ or coordinate emergency maintenance as necessary.
  • Computer literate.
  • Good Interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Integrity.
