We are recruiting a Waiter / Waitress to be part of Tamarina Golf and Spa Boutique Hotel
The waiter is responsible act as a runner between kitchen and restaurant and brings food & beverages from the
kitchen and dispense bar to the restaurant and clears all empty trays. Serve food and beverages in restaurants,
bars, and as well as in outside catering function to provide efficient and prompt service to guests. The position
requires attention to detail, efficiency, and a commitment to providing excellent service to support a positive
guest experience.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Welcome and direct guests to their seats; present menu and wine list and also take orders.
- Performs mise-en-place of tables, service stations, as instructed by immediate supervisors.
- Must be familiar with all items on the menu, learning the ingredients of dishes/cocktails so as to answer guests whenever taking orders.
- Serves food and beverages as per instructions by adhering to the Quality Standard of service.
- Clean the work place and performing ancillary duties.
- Ensure a speedy and efficient service within an ascribed area.
- Present bills prepared by the cashier and ensuring that such bills are signed or paid by the guests in the ascribed area.
- Make sure that all the rules concerning the billing and ordering are respected.
- Converse with guests to obtain feedback on quality of service and suggestions, if any, for improvement.
- Proper handling of materials and equipment to avoid breakage.
- Monitor tables for guest needs, refilling drinks, clearings plats, and ensuring a clean dining area.
- Ensure sales of products in the different outlets is done properly.
- Ensure cashiering of all the sales done.
- Report bad function of utilities such as lights, fans and toilets and to report to superior for any repair or defect.
- Will be required to move through the hotel from one section/outlet to another and to work outside the restaurant perimeter in the course of a day’s work and in the performance of prescribed duties.
Qualifications Required:
- School Certificate or a certificate of equivalent standard.
- National Certificate Level 3 (NC3) in Restaurant and bar service or equivalent qualifications.
- Valid Food Handler Certificate.
Experience Required:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as Waiter in a hotel will be an advantage.
