Job Summary:

The Head of Technical is responsible for the overall technical management of the rides and facilities technical operations as well as leading, motivating, and directing a diverse team of technical; staff in a variety of operational responsibilities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct engineering contributions to project as required relative to engineering, code and standards compliance. Casela specification compliance, and technical systems for the achievement of creative and business goals.
  • Assess/ approve all areas/ rides/ shows/ appliances scope of work and RFPs.
  • Liaise with manufacturers and vendors to ensure that all the equipments are fully operational and in good condition, assess installation of attractions and IT systems.
  • Conduct effective planning and preventive maintenance, annual testing and ensuring that other technical programs are thoroughly carried out.
  • Lead the project technical team in assessing and mitigating technical and schedule risks.
  • Manage the technical reporting system to ensure that the reports generated are timely, accurate and with integrity in order to optimise efficiency and revenue generation.
  • Monitor compliance with regulations and internal standards; developing new safety technologies; and ensuring that safety protocols reflect Casela’s best practices and cutting-edge ideas.
  • Participate in the preparation of the annual budget of Casela.
  • Analyse monthly accounts and report accordingly.
  • Monitor the performance of the business against set objectives.
  • Maintain budget and establish financial targets and forecasts.
  • Ensure on time financial reporting to the management, in collaboration with the finance department.
  • Manage the recruitment, training and induction programs for the Technical Service team ensuring all members of staff are competently trained in accordance with the IAAPA International standard requirements.
  • Manage the budgets and staff schedules for the Technical Service team in a way, this will maximize operational effectiveness and minimize cost.
  • Understand and actively participate in the Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established Casela policy, procedures, and training of team member involvement activities.
  • Support in the implementation of health and safety risk management programs relevant to the operations and work environment
  • Execute any other cognate duties as may be necessary as required by the employer.

Candidate’s Profile:

  • Hold a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Engineering, or any other equivalent.
  • At least 10 years of relevant working experience.
  • High-level knowledge on mechanical, electrical, audio, visual, light, hydraulics and pneumatics systems and system integration environment.
  • Excellent knowledge on vendor management and in-field installation. 
  • Thorough understanding on Environmental, Health & Safety standards.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of the organization’s vision, mission, strategies and goals.
  • Excellent knowledge on amusement/ theme park industry.
  • Highly analytical and critical thinker.
