Irrigation Manager

• Leading the irrigation department and related projects.
• Managing Medine’s water rights and representing Medine on all water-related committees.
• Dealing with local authorities and related bodies (MCA, MSIRI among others) when handling irrigation and water management.
• Responsible for the proper and judicious water management at Medine (Agriculture) Ltd.
• Responsible for the proper running of all irrigation systems (centre pivot, linear move, dragline, drip).
• Supervising a team of field technicians responsible of the different sugarcane production zones.
• Maintaining irrigation systems, reporting any loopholes in their functioning and ensuring timely repairs of all systems.
• Consulting Area Managers to ensure proper harmony of all farm operations and irrigation.
• Collaborating actively with the agronomy department on research and development projects, trials, onsite tests.
• Effectively providing feedback on assigned tasks.
• Assisting in the implementation of technology-driven irrigation techniques.
• Ensuring that agricultural activities, namely irrigation, comply with quality standards.
• Applying health and safety standards across the activities.
• Executing any other cognate duties as may be necessary in the circumstances as required by the employer.

• Masters/Degree holder in Agriculture or any other equivalent experience any other equivalent technical qualification related to irrigation.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in the related field.
• Sound knowledge in sugarcane cultivation would be an advantage.
• Valid driving license (Manual).
• Familiar with good and modern agriculture practices.
• Strong written and verbal communication with a positive, can-do attitude.
• Open to new ideas and adaptable to changing technology.
• Excellent research, analytical and communication skills.
• Having an attention to detail and able to maintain high level commitment to accuracy and quality.
• Team leader promoting team cohesion.
• Analytical and attention to details.
