As part of the diversification of its activities in the 2000s, Medine Group embarked upon the creation of a master plan to guide the development of the 10,000 hectares of land owned by the company and strategically located on Mauritius’ west coast.
The Medine Master Plan was first published in 2005. It then underwent a series of transformations to take it in a strategic new direction, towards the creation of a Smart City with a central focus on education. The Smart City places particular emphasis on higher education via the creation of an integrated and international Education Hub targeting the African continent.
