For the fourth year in a row, the Medine Group organised one of the most important events of its annual calendar; namely the Long Service Awards ceremony that earmarks employees who have worked for 25, 35 and 40 or more years within the companies of the Group.
Thierry Sauzier, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Medine Group welcomed the awardees and their partners, as well as their managers, at Le Dix-Neuf Restaurant of the Tamarina Golf Club, on Thursday the 14th of June. It is also in the presence of Jacques Li Wan Po, Vice President of the board of Medine and Marc Desmarais, Group Head of HR, that the Award ceremony took place during which fifty-three employees were awarded for their exceptional career.
Thierry Sauzier expressed his pride and gratitude during his keynote speech: « I am particularly pleased and proud to present this award to you, to congratulate you for your extraordinary career within the Group. Few people nowadays can boast about such a professional career in a company. Yet you are 53 awardees tonight! »
Thierry Sauzier also emphasized upon the value of this loyalty in the eyes of the Group: « Today we have awardees from Medine Agriculture, Medine Corporate, Casela World of Adventures, Medine Distillery and Concorde. The length of your career in each of our companies is also a proof of the quality of the work you have provided during all these years and more than a celebration, these awards are also an acknowledgment of your work. Because of your longevity in your companies, you have certainly enriched your colleagues with your know-how and for all these reasons we also say, thank you! »
Awardees received an honorary certificate, a commemorative trophy indicating their years of service and a beautiful watch engraved with the date of the ceremony. Employees that have reached 40 years of service or more also received a weekend for two, full board at #Tamarina.
Gassen Veerapen, who has 35 years of service within the Group’s corporate office, is a key figure within this department of 53 people. « I feel privileged to be in a company that has existed since 1911 and with all these projects that are coming up, it is a chance to be still part of the Group today. I started working in 1982 and I have hence accompanied Medine for a third of the company’s life. I have worked in the different offices of Port Louis (WEAL House, Harbour Front and Medine Mews) and I must say that Uniciti Office Park is the right place for Medine’s businesses. I want to thank my wife for her support and am very proud to see my son now working for the Property cluster as a Junior Project Coordinator. »
